Provenance: The consignor, Mr. George Korn, related the following history of this piece: ''My father, Elmer J. Korn, was vice president of the Newark Wire Cloth Company until his death in 1961. He was actively involved in the Newark Museum, where my father pointed out works by Edmondson as being created by the same artist as `our' piece. It was given to me upon his death and I have owned it for over fifty years.''
