William Buell Sprague, five signed letters, written between 1838 and 1862, several mentioning his collection of autographs, together with a cabinet card, signed on verso, 4" x 2 1/2". Sprague was a collector of historical documents and pamphlets and became the first person ever to gather a complete set of the autographs of the signers of the United States Declaration of Independence. Provenance: The Ephemera Collection of Joseph Rubinfine, Merritt Island, Florida.
