Welch, Brown & Co. US model 1861 percussion rifle, .58 caliber, the lock inscribed Norwich 1864, with a 40'' round barrel.
With 1861 model hammer. All metal has turned brown. Broken mainspring. 1 1/4'' chips out of each side of upper tang , six 1/2'' notches to left wrist.
