Watercolor on ivory miniature memorial, possibly Samuel Folwell, dated 1799, with 2 figures flanking a tomb, inscribed "Hope Lies Beyond The Grave", the reverse with braid of hair and engraved "My Dear I am going to him who gave me to you L.S. Died Feb 14, 1799 Aged 25 yrs", 1 3/4" x 1 1/2".
Brooch - good condition, no apparent damages or repairs. Case - surface abrasions, a few small tears to interior lining.
