Very rare Lampeter School silk on linen sampler, dated 1799, wrought by Phebe Harvey of Pennsbury Township, Chester County, retaining its original frame with John Elliott label, 16 1/2" x 13 1/2". A related sampler by Sarah Brinton is in the Chester County Historical Society. This is possibly the only known sampler naming the Lampeter School. Provenance: Siena College Auction, May 30, 1998.
