US Springfield model 1888 trapdoor rifle, .45-70 caliber, having walnut stock with sling swivels, the lock inscribed US Springfield, with eagle, the barrel with VP proof marks, US marked butt plate, inspector proof dated 1890 on left side of stock, Buffington rear sight, ramrod bayonet, 32 1/2" barrel. SN #509084
Overall very good condition, handling marks to stock, bright bore with strong rifling, all metal turning grey.
