US Springfield model 1873 saddle ring trapdoor rifle, .45-70 caliber, with walnut stock and folding rear ladder sight, the lock inscribed US Springfield, with eagle, the breech stamped US model 1873, US marked butt plate, the barrel with VP eagle proofs, 22" barrel. SN #87616 Provenance: The Firearms & Militaria Collection of Robert Spangler Jr., West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Very good overall condition as restocked, blued trapdoor, all other metal turning grey, good stock, No "C" on sight, barrel cut down, bright bore with strong rifling.
