US Springfield model 1868 2nd Allin conversion trapdoor rifle with bayonet, .50-70 CF caliber, the lock inscribed US Springfield 1864, with spread winged eagle, the breech block dated 1866, walnut stock with two cartouches and sling swivels, folding rear sight, 35 3/4" barrel.
Good overall condition, bright bore with strong rifling, stock with normal handling marks, all metal turning grey, rack number to butt stock B44, illegible rack numbers on left butt stock, original ramrod and correct bayonet.
