US Model 1888 Springfield trapdoor rifle, 45-70 caliber, having 18. N. Y. stamped on stock, the top of the stock inscribed 8 N. Y. 381 1168, the left wrist with 1892 inspector cartouche, 35 1/2'' barrel. SN 539785 Provenance: Roger A. Young, Millbrook, New York collection.
Groove cut into right side of stock, handling marks, light pitting to barrel.
