Unusual needlework and felt picture, mid 18th c., depicting a colorful bird perched on a cherry tree with lawn and flowers, the felt outlined in stitches, 8 1/2" x 9". This picture is similar in elements to some needlework of Chester County, Pennsylvania. For examples, see Swan, Winterthur Guide to American Needlework, pgs. 84-87. Condition

Some losses to felt, 1" hole in grass, two 1/4" holes in white field and small holes around edge.
