Condition

Overall condition Very Good. The barrel is stamped "V" over "P" over an Eagle head. The lock is marked "US Springfield" & dated 1856. The eagle stamped Maynard tape primer mechanism is fully functional . The nipple is a modern replacement & the sear appears to be worn as the hammer does not stay cocked. There are numerous scratches & small dents in the stock, but no cracks or repairs. There is a faint shadow of a cartouche to the left side.
