The Philadelphia Toboggan Co. carved and painted pine carousel horse, ca. 1900, by Charles Carmel, outside row, retaining its original pristine factory paint, 51" h., 58" l. Provenance: Guernsey Auction, December 16, 1989; Darlene Falzarano.
Dimensions: approx. 56 1/2" h. (foot to ear), 40" l. Excellent old surface. Minor sporadic wear. A few small screws added to secure neck. Two screw holes on one shoulder where handle had been attached. Description should read: probably a Carmel from Brooklyn, NY.
