The Mind Unveiled; Or: A Brief History Of Twenty-two Imbecile Children, first edition, published in Philadelphia by U. Hunt & Son, 1858, with one salt print photograph. Said to be the first photographically illustrated medical book published in the United States, inscribed in pencil on first page H. J. Brooke 3/6/87, From Grandma Brooke, also inscribed on last page Hugh J. Brooke, Media, Pennsylvania, bound in blue cloth with gilt spine and cover, gilt edges, 7 1/2" x 5 1/4". Hugh Jones Brooke was Vice President of the Pennsylvania Training School for Feeble Minded Children.
