The Jumel Mansion: Being a Full History of the House on Harlem Heights Built by Roger Morris before the Revolution, by William Henry Shelton, published by Houghton Mifflin Co., 1916, bound in green cloth with gilt spine, decorated and gilded front board, gilt top edge, comes with a pamphlet previewing the book, together with a receipt for a wine purchase, signed by Stephen Jumel, dated March 16th, 1805, confirming a shipment has been sent on the ship "Big Eagle" to be exported to Bordeaux, as well as a hand typed letter from the Houghton Mifflin Company offering the book for preorder, an order form for the book and the original envelope that they came in, as well as two newspaper articles about the Jumel House, one from 1916, the other from 1917, 7 3/4" x 11 1/4".
