Springfield US model 1842 percussion musket, .69 caliber, the lock inscribed Springfield 1851, the barrel with VP proofs, the tang dated 1844, with walnut stock, 40'' barrel.
Through and through crack in wrist with old repair, initial K carved in right stock, evidence of old varnish to metal.
