Southeast Pennsylvania redware covered bowl, ca. 1800, with extensive slip star and tulip decoration, 5" h., 8 1/2" dia. Provenance: Sotheby's, Helen Janssen Wetzel sale, October, 1980, lot 1833.
Lid- small chips to finial. All over glaze loss and small chips to rim. Base- significant touch up to glaze/slip. Structurally the bowl seems intact with no repairs to the foundation including the handles.
