Soap Hollow, Pennsylvania painted pine chest of drawers dated 1853, "Manufactured by John Sala" with typical scrolled backsplash and red and black grained case with yellow cockbeaded drawers adorned with stenciled floral decoration, the sides with recessed black panels each with bird, leaf, dog and stylized floral tree decoration, inscribed "JE 1853", resting on tall turned feet, 53 1/4" h., 37" w.
