Shenandoah Valley redware crock, 19th c., attributed to Peter Bell, the underside signed in script Peter, the signature matches the signature on a 1845 deed for property in Hagerstown, Maryland signed by Peter Bell, one of two known signed examples of his work with the other in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester Virginia, 6 1/2" h., 9" w. Exhibited"The Bell Family Pottery", The Washington County Museum of Fine Art, 2008. Provenance: A Maryland collection.
