Seven color botanical engravings for Dr. Thornton's Temple of Flora, after the works by Reinagle and Henderson, ca. 1800, to include Tulips, The Narrow-leaved Kalmia, A Group of Carnations, A Group of Ariculas, The Quadrangular Passion-flower, The Sacred Egyptian Beane, and The Winged Passion-flower, 18" x 14 1/2". Provenance: The Old Print Shop, Inc., December 1940; The Collection of Mr. & Mrs. George P. Bissell, Jr.

Condition

Sizes: 30" h. x 24" w. (4), 30" h. x 26" w. (1), 20" h. x 25 1/2" w. (1), and 31" h. x 24" w. (1). Parts: lot includes invoice from The Old Print Shop, Inc., dated December 19, 1940. From the original book the Temple of Flora published in 1799. Minor toning/foxing. Overall good condition. No examined out of frame..
