A nearly identical side chair sold at Sotheby's, New York, Important Americana, January 21, 2017, sale 9607, lot 4247. Provenance: Private Collection, Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey. Wear commensurate with age and use. The top and bottom of the splat at the junction of the shoe of one chair has been re-glued. The proper front left leg lacking the side knee return of one chair.
