Impressive set of eighteen English silver dinner plates, 1765-1766, from an original service of forty-eight, bearing the touch of Septimus & James Crespell, each with an engraved armorial of Baron Douglas of Scotland and gadrooned edge, 9 3/8" dia., 305 ozt. Provenance: twelve plates from Shrubsole, December 1966; The Collection of Mr. & Mrs. George P. Bissell, Jr.
Parts: Invoice from Shrubsole dated December 5, 1966. Good condition with minor wear. All with crisp and matching marks. Backs with numbers and scratch weights.
