"Schtockschnitzler" Simmons(Berks County, Pennsylvania, active 1885-1910), carved and painted bird tree with five polychrome decorated birds, 15 1/2" h. Illustrated in Machmer, Just For Nice, fig. 4.
Top bird - small loss to tail and small paint flake on back. Large bird on second tier - 3/4" loss of wood on back. Small bird on second tier - 1/4" area of paint loss on back. Branch has been reglued.
