Scarce Pennsylvania wrought iron die tool, late 18th/early 19th c., used to fashion white oak round rods for basket weaving, on top and left are a set of pliers and an iron strip with graduated holes through which the oak rods were pulled to size them appropriately. The iron strip that would have been driven into a work bench or heavy beam to anchor it, while rods were pulled through the graduated set of holes. Very good condition. No apparent damages or repairs.
