Bowles's Royal Geographical Amusement or Game of Geography, ca. 1770, early cartographic hand colored engraving with letterpress on sixteen sections backed with linen, with paper covered heavy card case having paper label, inscribed Printed for the proprietor Carrington Bowles, this piece was the subject of what is believed to be the first known case of maps and copyright infringement (Thomas Jeffreys against print seller and publisher Carrington Bowles), 19" x 27".
