Richard Evett Bishop(American, 1887-1975), oil on board, titled "Over Ocean", executed in 1963, together with another of 6 canvasbacks, executed in 1966, 6" x 8". One with minor dirt to surface. One with 1" x 1/4" paper remnant stuck in crest of wave at left edge. Overall good condition. No apparent touch-ups/repairs. The Private Studio Collection of Richard E. Bishop is being offered to the public for the first time. Each piece comes with a history of the artist, his work, and a signed letter from Bishop’s heirs authenticating the work and its place in the private collection. Each is now in an ivory mat and a contemporary plain black wood frame (note that some frames do have abrasions).
