Report of the Merchants' Committee for the Relief of Colored People Suffering from the Riots in the City of New York; July, 1863, printed in New York by George A. Whitehorne, 1863. The book outlines the draft riots that took place from July 13-16, 1863, in lower Manhattan, as well as details of the relief efforts put in place to help the African American population following the riots. Other than the civil war, this is considered the largest and most racially charged uprising in American history.
