Report of the Joint Special Committee of the Common Council, Appointed for the Purpose of Making Suitable Arrangements for the Reception of Major General Scott, on His Return from Mexico, and to Tender to Him the Hospitalities of the City, printed in New York by McSpedon & Baker, 1849, Major General Winfield Scott took part in the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War and the early stages of the Civil War, and was the Whig Parties presidential nominee in the 1852 election, bound in black cloth with gilt spine and gilt back board, 5 3/4" x 8 3/4".
