Remington Rolling Block number 1 Mid-Range target single shot rifle, .40-70 caliber, with walnut stock, tang sight, globe front sight, adjustable rear sight, crescent butt plate, and steel nose cap, 30" octagonal to round barrel. SN #8018 Provenance: The Firearms & Militaria Collection of Robert Spangler Jr., West Chester, Pennsylvania.
Very good overall condition, retaining 70% original blue to barrel, hammer and block, receiver shows some case colors in protected areas, bright bore with strong rifling, very good stocks, 3/8" chip to the underside of the forend.
