Rare tiger maple shelf, mid 18th c., with scalloped sides, four shelves, and a shaped skirt, retaining a fine old patina, 34 3/4" h., 19" w. The artistically arranged assembly of small objects was begun by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Flack of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and added to by the noted folk art collector and artist Barry Cohen in the late 20th c. Objects of a collector's passion, there are around twenty-six small wallpaper boxes, pin cushions, and carvings that represent highly desirable personal possessions of the Pennsylvania Germans.
