Rare set of eight Delaware Valley ladderback dining chairs, ca. 1770, each with five slats, a rush seat, and ball and ring turned frontal stretchers, all retaining an excellent original stained surface. Provenance: The Collection of Margaret Schiffer.
Dimensions: 16 1/2" h. (seat). Overall very good condition. Chair #1 - repaired break to one splat. Chair #2 - repaired break to one side stretcher. Chair #3 - sporadic worm damage. Three chairs have had seat replacements. One chair with repaired break to leg. Nice old surface.
