Rare Schwenkfelder painted poplar dower chest, dated 1815, the front decorated with an astragal cartouche, inscribed Jacob Hubner on a vibrant orange grain decorated ground, 27 1/4" h., 46 1/2" w. Provenance: Pook & Pook, Inc., May 21, 2004, lot 249.
Brasses replaced. Original feet. Expected wear to lid. Otherwise very good condition.
