Rare Philadelphia Chippendale mahogany writing desk, ca. 1780, with two hinged lids opening to a writing surface, flanked by two wells above four drawers, 35 1/2'' h., 60 1/4'' w., 27'' d. Provenance: Sotheby's, December 8, 1984, lot 368; Bucks County, Pennsylvania collection.
Brasses replaced. Restoration to upper section of backboards. Other minor repairs.
