Rare Western Pennsylvania eight-gallon stoneware crock, ca. 1870, inscribed Eberhart & Williams, with freehand cobalt decoration, 19 1/4'' h. The inscription may refer the the partnership of Adolph Eberhart and J.G. Williams who purchased the Dilliner pottery in New Geneva in 1866 and sold it a few years later in 1870 to Alexander Conrad. Few pieces are known from this partnership all being marked A. Eberhart & Co. Provenance: Massachusetts Collection.
Good with some discoloration.
