Rare New Jersey gumwood tall case clock, ca. 1780, with a sarcophagus bonnet enclosing an 8-day brass works with name boss, inscribed Aaron Lane, Elizth. Town, above a waist with an arched door, resting on a base with stepped bracket feet, 88 1/2" h. A nearly identical example is pictured in Drost Clocks and Watchmakers of New Jersey, pg. 138.
Parts: pendulum, 2 weights, winder. Some spandrels replaced. Missing one spur.
