Rare inlaid Queen Anne walnut cupboard, ca. 1750, initialed HB MB, with two inlaid cupboard doors over an open section and five drawer base, 79 h., 35 1/2" w. Illustrated in Schiffer Furniture and Its Makers of Chester County Pennsylvania, figs. 133 and 134. This cupboard is one of only two known examples of this form. The mate was sold by Pook & Pook: The Pioneer Collection of Dr. and Mrs. Donald Shelley, April 21, 2007, lot 363. That example lacked the inlaid ornament and had been cut into two sections. Both cupboards were purchased ca. 1965 in Westminster, Maryland.
