Rare earthenware vase, inscribed on base Anthony W. Baecher 1879, with an urn top, open handles, flanking three birds in full relief, resting on a round base, 10 1/2" h. A similar vase with less vibrant glazing is pictured in Wiltshire Folk Pottery of the Shenandoah Valley, plate 49, 10 1/2" h. Handles and rim restored. A few repairs to birds.
