Rare Connecticut painted pine fireboard, attributed to Stimp, ca. 1800, with a stylized fruit tree with grapevines flanked by trailing vines on an ivory ground, 29 1/2" h., 43 3/4" w.
Lower board has been cut and reattached with touch-up, mainly to background. Sporadic surface abrasions. Provenance: private Pennsylvania consignment.
