Rare cast zinc rooster weathervane, 19th c., attributed to J. Howard Co., with a pleated copper tail, retaining a fine old verdigris surface with traces of gilt, 12 1/2'' h. For a nearly identical example, see Miller, The Art of the Weathervane, pg. 142. Provenance: important Berks County, Pennsylvania collection.
A couple old repaired bullet holes.
