Philip Russell Goodwin(American, 1882-1935) - Oil on canvas illustration, titled "A Distant Aquaintance", depicting a fly fisherman with rod and catch looking at a skunk on shore, signed lower right "Philip R. Goodwin 1905", bears 1975 Brandywine River Museum exhibition label verso, 28 1/4" x 19 1/4". Illustrated in Scrivener's, 1905 as an art piece and later reprinted as the cover for All Outdoors magazine, April 1919.
