Philadelphia silk, paint, and chenille on silk Washington memorial, ca. 1805, with 2 women and young child, flanking an urn, inscribed "Sacred to their memory of the illustrious Washington", 15 1/4" x 20". For a similar example, see Ring, Girlhood Embroidery, vol. II, fig. 409.
Dimensions: 15 1/4" x 20" (oval), 21 7/8" x 26 3/8" (frame), 18 x 22 1/2" (mat). Small hole along right edge. Very minor thread loss.
