Philadelphia late Federal mahogany sofa, ca. 1830, the gadrooned crest with hound head ears, above foliate carved arms and reeded apron supported by animal paw feet. For a similar example, see Boor, Philadelphia Empire Furniture, pg. 368, fig. 223.
Dimensions: 96" w., 25 1/2" d., 40 3/4" height at back. Overall good condition. Nice old surface.
