Philadelphia Chippendale walnut tall case clock dated 1795, the broken arch bonnet with carved rosettes and urn and flame finials enclosing works with painted face, inscribed (George) Miller Germantown, over a case with fluted quarter columns and ogee bracket feet, inscribed on saddleboard Geo Miller Fecit August 7 1795, 99 1/4" h. This clock descended in the family of George Rittenhouse until it was purchased by John Tyler, a North Carolina collector, thence to Sumpter Priddy III and the present owner.

Condition

Parts: pendulum, one weight. A few flakes to dial. Finials are original. 30 hour. Overall very good condition. Pook & Pook, Inc. does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition.
