Philadelphia Chippendale walnut armchair, ca. 1770, with a shell carved crest, apron, and knees, and ball and claw feet. Provenance: Property sold with the approval of the trustees of the Philadelphia Museum of Art to benefit acquisition funds.
Small repairs to rear of stiles at crest. Old plaque on inside of frame reads "Freeman Sale 1930". Old oak slip seat with applied sheet iron brackets.
