Philadelphia Chippendale mahogany dining chair, ca. 1775, attributed to the shop of Thomas Affleck, the carved splat above an overupholstered seat resting on square legs with blind fretwork. An identical chair is illustrated inWilliam MacPherson Horner, Jr., Horner's Blue Book Philadelphia Furniture, pl. 260. Purportedly made for the Penn family and gifted into the Cresson family.
