Pennsylvania walnut wainscot armchair, ca. 1720, the arched crest with diamond inlays, above a raised panel with line inlays and 3 slat back, flanked by curved arms supported by turned and blocked legs joined by baluster and ring turned medial stretcher with double side stretchers, retaining an old black surface. Referred to as "Bishop Eby black banister back" by Dr. Shelley. Provenance: East Orange Street, Lancaster on site auction; Edgar and Charlotte Sittig.

Seat loose and cracked. Otherwise in good condition.
