Pennsylvania silk on linen sampler, wrought by Elizabeth Trcziyulny of Belfont, PA, ca. 1830, with a brick mansion above a willow tree, bees, and a beehive, above a wreath encompassing two birds, all flanked by six additional vine and floral groups, one with a black owl perched on a branch, all within stylized vine border on three sides, 19 1/2" x 19 1/2".
Losses to owl figure. Some fading. Minor toning and foxing. Overall very nice condition. Belfont attribution is based on the consignor's family history, no documentation. Provenance: Lots 1-155, the Collection of Jack & Mary Louise Krumrine, Philadelphia, PA.
