Pennsylvania silk on linen sampler, dated 1801, wrought by Elizabeth Gotwals, with blue bird and floral decoration, within a trailing vine border, 10" x 8 1/2".
Good condition. No apparent damages or repairs. Initialed EG. Sampler is not glued down or attached to the frame in any way, just sandwiched between the glass and the backboard.
