Lancaster, Pennsylvania silk on linen needlework sampler, dated 1841, Mary Trout with parents John & Mary Trout, having two vibrant flower baskets over a brick home with lawn of bird and sheep, centered by a wide floral band and silk ribbon, the signature line and date trails off with a mounted sewing needle, 17 1/2" x 21 1/2". Provenance: Purchased from Susan Groves (Chuck Groves daughter) in 1998; Cocalica Valley Historical Society sale.
