Pennsylvania Sheraton cherry tall case clock, early 19th c., the thirty-hour movement, signed Samuel Krauss Montgomery County, 89" h., together with a tuning fork purportedly from the Krauss family of clock and organ builders and a copy of the magazine Schwenckfeldiana, Vol. 1, No. 5, 1945, which includes an article about the Krauss family. Lot 151 in this sale is a fraktur birth certificate for Samuel Krauss. Provenance: Purchased in 2000 at an auction near Allentown.

Condition

Overall very good. Repaired break to center finial plinth. Saddleboard sits on shims, but works appear to be original to case. Pook & Pook does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition. Door glass measures 18" x 12 3/4".
