Pennsylvania Sheraton cherry tall case clock, early 19th c., the thirty-hour movement, signed Samuel Krauss Montgomery County, 89" h., together with a tuning fork purportedly from the Krauss family of clock and organ builders and a copy of the magazine Schwenckfeldiana, Vol. 1, No. 5, 1945, which includes an article about the Krauss family. Lot 151 in this sale is a fraktur birth certificate for Samuel Krauss. Provenance: Purchased in 2000 at an auction near Allentown. Overall very good. Repaired break to center finial plinth. Saddleboard sits on shims, but works appear to be original to case. Pook & Pook does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition. Door glass measures 18" x 12 3/4".
