Pennsylvania Queen Anne walnut armchair, ca. 1750, possibly Lancaster County, with an upholstered back and seat, massive downward sloping arms with baluster supports, scalloped seat frame, and cabriole front legs terminating in crooked feet, retaining a desirable old dark finish. The back and arms with evidence of tack holes of the original over-upholstery. A chair of similar design is pictured in Swank, Art of the Pennsylvania Germans fig. 67, and is in the collection of The Henry Francis DuPont Winterthur Museum.
